You can request up to three items to be collected for £22. Any additional items are £7.50 each – the additional charge for fridges, freezers or fridge-freezers is £11. We will also collect any bagged up fabric or small electrical items, like kettles or toasters, for free as part of any paid collection.
This service is only available to Oldham Council residents. For collections outside of Oldham, please contact your local authority. Call Oldham Council on 0161 770 6644 to book your collection. Payments are taken over the phone from a credit/debit card.
Bookings can be changed or cancelled up to 3.30pm the working day before collection is due (e.g. 3.30pm on a Friday for a collection due on a Monday).

Please note, if you have never applied for and are not currently receiving an assisted bin collection, we may require proof of your eligibility to receive a free bulky waste collection.
To help us to be able to reuse items we ask that you take as much care of them as you can. If you can cover items from the elements and avoid dismantling them, then this really helps us to reuse them. We especially ask that you carry any unwanted mattresses rather than drag them. Thanks for your help – it can make a big difference to somebody.
You must leave items outside the home on your collection day. We can also collect items from your garage or shed provided you are at home to let us in. We will only collect items from inside in exceptional circumstances at this time.

All the pre-loved items we collect are sent to our warehouse for assessment and quality checking. Once they have been checked and are deemed good enough they are sent to our workshops where they are tested, cleaned, repaired, re-upholstered and painted and made available to people experiencing furniture poverty in the local area.
We appreciate the importance of a great night’s sleep and the need for a comfortable and clean mattress. We’ve developed the world’s first mattress UltraCleaning line which means that we can reuse any great quality mattresses that we collect.

Any reusable white goods that we collect are safety and function tested, repaired if necessary and thoroughly cleaned before being made available to those experiencing furniture poverty in our local area.
Our Workshops our run by our ViPs team (Volunteers, Interns, Placements and Students) which is our volunteering programme enabling people to work towards their own goals or give to charity by volunteering time and skills. Through this programme our volunteers gain new skills and experiences and the passion, dedication and willingness of our volunteers helps us achieve our mission to End Furniture Poverty. Any items that are not of a good enough quality to be reused are responsibly managed. We ensure that nothing at all goes to landfill and work hard to recycle ass many items as possible including wood, metal, plastic, glass and cardboard.
