Driving Change
Driving Change is our training and employment programme which aims to help people secure higher-paid employment elsewhere when they have finished their training.
We call people on this programme ‘Trainees’ – they are employed with FRC Group on fixed term contracts ranging in length from 3 months to 2 years. Trainees work as Drivers across all bases in our FRC Living and Bulky Bob’s Driving Teams.
The aim of Driving Change is to give people access to great work experience and a host of qualifications, skills and behaviours to help them to find employment elsewhere at the end of their training contract with us.
What qualifications will I get?
Apprenticeships
In essence, an apprenticeship is a job as well as one of our paid training opportunities. You’ll spend 80% of the working week at your place of employment, and 20% at your place of study. You’ll earn a salary, and your course fees will be covered by your employer and the government. You just need to be willing to manage your time between work and study.
Kickstart
The Kickstart Scheme funds high quality 6 month work placements for young people aged 16-24 on Universal Credit deemed at risk of long term unemployment due to Coronavirus. The scheme pays employers 100% of the National Minimum Wage for 25 hours a week.
