Homelessness Accommodation – York Council

We worked with City of York Council to specify and supply all the contract furniture for all areas, including flats and communal areas in their new build Homelessness Accommodation. The build was supported with grants from government body Homes England to help fund the project.

The project had 57 self contained flats, with one, two and three bed apartments including twelve duplex and four larger ground floor wheelchair-accessible flats, each with a kitchen diner, bathroom and bedrooms. It also has a reception area, offices, interview rooms, a meeting room and a training kitchen.

The building is for use as temporary emergency accommodation for people who suddenly find themselves without a home. There are units to suit all sizes of vulnerable households with one, two and three-bedroom flats for families, couples and single people.

All the furniture was Crib 5 certified with hygienic contract fabrics which can be sanitised to minimise the risk of infection, suitable to the environment but the final specification, including finishes and style, were designed to provide a welcoming and homely feel.
