Places for People – Briary Court Supported Living Scheme – Refurbishment

Buckingham Interiors were asked to rejuvenate Briary Court – a Supported Living Scheme in the North West of England for Places for People. We are the sole supplier of furniture for older people (Living Plus and Supported Accommodation) on Places for People’s framework.

Places for People have designated a number of their Older People Schemes to receive high quality, high level support, which will include on site meals and care services (Living Plus). The Living Plus schemes are also to be 100% dementia friendly.

Buckingham Interiors worked in partnership with Places for People & PPG to develop 8 bespoke dementia friendly mood boards that include window coverings, cushion upholstery, furniture upholstery, flooring and paint finishes. It was important to keep continuity throughout the schemes, whilst still offering choice to the residents.

All of the bespoke mood boards we provide utilise light reflective values (LRV). LRV is a measure of visible and usable light that is reflected from a surface when illuminated by a light source. There is a need for certain surfaces and features to contrast visually with their surroundings in order to help guide residents.
We carried out a resident’s consultation, where the residents selected our Bramble mood board for the dining area and lounge. Buckingham Interiors selected the additional mood boards for the corridors, in order to match the flooring.
