A Grander Way of Life

Residents of independent living schemes in the East Midlands are enjoying a much Grander style of living thanks to Nottingham City Homes – with a little help from Buckingham Interiors.

The £4m Grander Designs project is improving and modernising communal areas in all of Nottingham City Homes Independent Living schemes, creating modern and homely places to live and all with full tenant consultation.

Buckingham Interiors has supplied all of the furniture and furnishings for the transformations, using client mood boards, to help create the stunning end results.

Buckingham Interiors Neina Cave said: “We were delighted to attend the official opening of the latest scheme to be refurbished – Ogdon Court. The end results are really fantastic and we are proud to continue to work with a client who shares our determination to provide the very best for residents.”

Alison Brandon is the Grander Designs Project Manager and her team have been praised for their commitment to continually improve the aims and ambitions of the project, as well as collaborating with other sections of NCH and Nottingham City Council.

In addition to refurbishing all communal areas inside and outside, there are new additions to some Independent Living schemes such as: canopies, entrance foyers, a new conservatory lounge, roof gardens new landscaping and planting, greenhouses, for example.

Alison explained: “We have worked closely with residents to involve them in all aspects of the improvement works and the feedback we’ve had so far has been very positive. We look forward to working with Buckingham Interiors to deliver environments where residents come together in modern, comfortable communal areas.”

The refurbished schemes have already improved the social lives of the residents as the new communal areas attract residents to socialise together, as well as encouraging new activities such as growing vegetables, fruit and flowers in their new gardens. The Grander Designs team have been carrying out surveys with residents at completed schemes with a 96% resident satisfaction rate for the overall works at the schemes.
